Since the wholesale business was a new part of the business, I was getting 40 hours a week. It took about 4 weeks to get processes down and best practices. The job quickly became a 20 hour a week job since I got faster and more efficient, and I couldn’t afford basic things like rent and eating. I asked for a standard weekly wage. I figured he was happy paying me for a 40 hour week, so I asked for that as a guaranteed wage and would continue to kick butt in running the wholesale business. He thought about it- for about 5 seconds- and wished luck finding a new job. To replace me, he hired a driver, and 2 people to pull orders and load trucks.
