As an aside: I was a generally polite and respectful student, I was academically advanced but struggled with motivation. I did honestly try to stay awake, but I was rarely able to get any decent, restful sleep at night and was suffering from severe depression (for which I was not receiving help) which drained what small amount of energy I may have had early in the day.
