If I wanted to communicate, I had to use my words (either on the phone or on paper) and string them into actual, coherent sentences. These days, people text. It has become so ubiquitous, that if you send a text, and haven’t received a response in less than five minutes, people complain. And don’t get me started on the content of those texts. I’m not the only teacher to complain about the degradation of the English language due to the rise of texting and social media communication.
