It’s the complete opposite in blue states, at least in the populated area that I lived in. People really, really do not like cops, and cops do not like the people. This might be because cops have to deal with really crappy things on the daily that simply don’t happen in Montana, like murders and robberies and assaults, but cops aren’t quite as warm and friendly as they are in places with fewer people. They also seem less likely to give you a break for breaking some minor law.
