But many of them make slightly-above minimum wage, doing jobs that they didn’t need a degree for in the first place. I was once one of those people. I got a useless degree in Communications, and spent the next eight years after college working as an aide for disabled people ($15–18/hour, no degree required) or retail manager ($16–20/hour, no degree required… the degree just let me skip a six-month non-management period).
