I was living in Alaska looking for a decent paying job. This was back in the mid-1990s. I found a company I was interested in based out of NYC. After talking to them, I decided not to take the job. In the closing conversation, the hiring manager responded with, “Call me when you are ready. We aren’t trying to fill a position, we are looking to hire the right people.”
