They had to deal with a lot of judgement and comments from other people, which was hard for them, and I remember feeling really awful that I had put them in such a tough situation. People were judging their parenting skils. My mum found it really hard when others would look down their nose and say things like ‘my daughter would never get pregnant at that age’. People would also say things like ‘did you know she was having sex?’ it got to the point she dreaded going out and having to face people. Thankfully it became old news fast, and people stopped pressing my parents for information, and it was no longer such juicy gossip.
