In the nineties, we used books. My dad had an entire collection of Encyclopaedia Britannica A-Z on a bookshelf above his bed. It was probably ten years out of date, but it was his pride and joy. The height of technology was when we got the encyclopaedias on a CD. These days, information is that tip of your finger - which it means a) it goes in one ear and out the other, and b) students have no discernment when it comes to evaluating the reliability of that information. It’s also a whole lot easier to plagiarise (but a whole lot easier to prove if students are plagiarising, so there’s that).
