Should you ever be on life support, in a coma, in a vegetative state, or dead, and you failed to make your wishes known beforehand should such a thing happen to you, there shouldn’t be any confusion about who gets to decide when to “pull the plug,” what to do with your body, and what to do with your stuff. Spouse… and there is always only one or none… supersedes parents or adult children in such matters. Your parents may disagree on what to do on your behalf in this situation. Your adult children may disagree. But, if you’re married, it doesn’t matter. Your spouse gets the final say.
